Bamboo is a viscose fiber, made from wood pulp, that is incredibly similar to silk but at a fraction of the price. It is silky soft, has a magnificent sheen and the strength and durability of silk. In fact, bamboo is so similar to silk it has gained in popularity for use as a silk substitute.
Luxurious yarns can be spun by blending Bamboo with other fibers, or spun alone it will make a strong core for core spun yarn. I have spun many skeins of yarn using this fiber and they have always been a crowd pleaser.
For wet felting, try mixing it up with high-quality wool or use it as is for needle felting projects and crafts.
